About NAAM
The New American Association of Massachusetts (NAAM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting refugees and immigrants on the North Shore. Our core services include English language learning, employment and job coaching, skills training, case management, after-school and youth programming, and citizenship assistance.
Position Overview
NAAM is seeking an organized, detail-oriented
Administrative & Data Management Intern to assist with data entry, cleaning, and preparation in
Salesforce . This role also supports client enrollment, program administration, and coordination with Salesforce developers as we expand our database. The internship is designed to give students or recent graduates meaningful hands-on experience in nonprofit operations and data management, while making a tangible difference in the lives of immigrant and refugee families.
This is a flexible, part-time internship (minimum 10 hours per week) with a $1,000 semester stipend. Interns will gain valuable professional skills, mentorship, and exposure to nonprofit program management, technology systems, and client services.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter, clean, and prepare client and program data in Salesforce to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with Salesforce developers and staff to support database building, implementation, and training.
- Assist with enrolling clients into programs and tracking participation.
- Help prepare reports and data summaries to support program evaluation and grant reporting.
- Perform administrative duties such as organizing files, updating spreadsheets, and supporting office operations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in public administration, business, social work, data management, or a related field .
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and comfort working with data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Google Docs, and willingness to learn Salesforce, SharePoint, and other systems.
- Interest in nonprofit work and commitment to serving diverse immigrant and refugee populations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
- Multilingual skills (Spanish, Pashto, Dari, Swahili, French, Haitian Creole, or Russian) a plus.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of orientation, reference check, and background screening.
- Participation in training opportunities for compliance and quality improvement.
