Overview Cryptocurrency Subject Matter Expert (SME) with OSINT experience / Senior Intelligence Analyst (Top-Secret Clearance Required). Ensure the safety and security of our nation as a Targeting/Cryptocurrency SME in our unit on digital currency. You will evaluate Internet information from social media, chats, forums, dark net, TOR network, news feeds, internet relay chats, cryptocurrency and blockchain data, and other sources of data openly available on the Internet. What You’ll Do Assess drug trafficking organizations and the movement/concealment of illicit proceeds, including the use of digital currency and peer-to-peer transfers. Hands-on experience with available tools and exploitation methods. Conduct cryptocurrency tracing across multiple platforms and blockchains (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero, etc.) to identify and track illicit financial flows with mixers and tumblers. Uncover anti-money laundering transitions using cryptocurrencies. Analyze data from diverse sources to identify investigative opportunities and intelligence to support programs in cybercrime, narcotics, mail theft, and money laundering. Evaluate Internet information from social media, chats, forums, darknet, TOR network, news feeds, internet relay chats, and other open data sources. Prioritize data to identify the most critical and reliable data to determine patterns of life data (e.g., bitcoin addresses, locations, accounts, services, travels, email addresses, IP addresses) for physical attribution of Internet identities. Create intelligence and investigative reports detailing data sources reviewed, steps taken, and conclusions drawn. Deliver results to various levels of the organization in clear formats showing conclusions and relationships. Represent analysis and research results using tabular, pictorial, or graphical techniques. What You’ll Need to Succeed Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, cybersecurity, finance, or related field is highly preferred. 10+ years of investigative, intelligence, or analysis experience in law enforcement. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in cryptocurrency tracing, analysis, and blockchain forensics across digital currencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, and others). Experience with Chainalysis, TRM, and other open-source tools and techniques. Expertise with cryptocurrency platforms, blockchain analytics tools, and digital wallets. Proficient OSINT skills and familiarity with FinCEN processes. Experience using cyber intelligence tools to search and mine publicly available Internet and the dark net/deep web. Strong understanding of how criminals hide online and operate on various marketplaces and forums. Experience using technology solutions to search, analyze, and prioritize marketplaces and targets for investigations; produce high-value intelligence. Experience with tools (paid and open-source) to conduct blockchain analysis and trace fund flows; produce comprehensive reports. Solid experience identifying and analyzing virtual currency transactions through dark web sources. Senior-level briefing and interpersonal skills; strong critical thinking; self-starter with an innovative mindset. Anti-money laundering (AML) experience (desired). Location & Clearance Location: Chantilly, VA — Onsite (no hybrid or remote option). Security Clearance: Active Top-Secret Clearance.
