Position Summary The Flight Dispatcher will create operational flight plans using the safest and most economical route and anticipate and proactively take corrective steps to prevent potential deviations from impacting a flight. This role is key to the operation as the Flight Dispatcher should constantly analyze and compare information from all available resources to ensure the daily operation is to Thrive Aviation’s Service and Safety standards. Duties and Responsibilities Provide the highest level of safety and service to all Thrive Aviation flights. Anticipate and pro-actively take corrective steps to prevent potential deviations from impacting a flight. Identify and suggest ways to integrate process improvements and efficiencies for the various job functions. Create operational flight plans using the safest and most economical route. Timely file, correct and maintain valid ATC flight plans in the ATS systems. Timely request/revise and obtain confirmations of all required permissions to overfly enroute countries and operate at airports of departure, arrival and alternates. Frequently assess the overall weather with special emphasis on flight hazards enroute and at airports of departure, arrival and alternates. Provide advisory services to the relevant departments on route or destination ranges for operations and to support Sales/Charter needs. Confirm the arrangement of ground assistance services for owners and crews as per flight activity, ensuring all services are confirmed for the current day's flights. Effectively maintain communications with operating crews on the ground or airborne. Always ensure the company Flight Management System (FMS) is updated correctly and in a timely manner. Provide detailed account of events as deviations unfold and maintain this record in the FMS as they become available. Maintain daily paperwork record keeping as required by FAA and Company Policies. Tactfully negotiate unscheduled events with all internal and external parties to secure the necessary services to accomplish the tasks safely and timely. Work effectively with internal and external customers as well as to provide a superior air transportation experience to our Clients and Flight Crews Proactively understand the internal and external customers' needs and respond with appropriate and effective options. Model and promote fair, equitable and respectful treatment to others. Always analyze and compare information/data from all available resources to ensure regulations and company rules are adhered to. Ensure the daily operation is run in a cost-effective way (flight routings, etc…) safeguarding safety and service quality. Requirements Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform required duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger and required to reach with hands and arms. There is no significant standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. The person in this position needs to be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. There is a constant operation of a telephone and computer. The employee may be lifting up to 15 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust and focus. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while in an office environment. The work is typically done while sitting at a desk or table. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Experience & Qualifications The most successful candidate in the position will meet most, if not all, of the following criteria. Bachelor’s degree required. Prior aviation experience required. Must be highly organized with excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and must be able to communicate with all levels of employees with a superior level of professionalism. Must have a high level of detail with the ability to thrive in changing environments and the flexibility for frequently changing priorities. Must work well under pressure and able to multi-task. Be willing to work during off-hours, occasionally. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Demonstrate broad knowledge of the functional area. Exercise independent judgment.
