Base pay range $65,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr Alderson Loop is looking for a Jr. Database Administrator to join a Fortune 500 investment firm. The Administrator will be joining a team of three that provides tier I support to all the database platforms for the enterprise organization. The resource will need to be on-site 2 days a week in Owings Mills, MD. Responsibilities: Perform data and database object changes of medium complexity for in scope database platform Engage requests in supporting projects across various business units in the firm Daily tasks include reviewing tickets to make sure they meet audit and compliance requirements Triaging tickets and reassigning to database platform groups as needed Support incident tickets for database connectivity troubleshooting and DB Visualizer issues Process tickets effectively while mitigating risk to protect our production and non-production environment Independently review issues of medium complexity, assess problems, determine impacts on database infrastructure and engage senior staff as required Provide innovative ideas to improve data change desk standards and processes as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required An internship or 1-2 years of professional experience providing technical support, covering database administration and operations to include monitoring maintenance capacity, performance monitoring/planning and incident/problem troubleshooting and resolution Experience working hands-on with databases - SQL Server, Snowflake, Oracle, DB2, etc Knowledge of SQL is nice to have Experience working with a ticketing system is nice to have Seniority level Seniority level Entry level Employment type Employment type Contract Job function Job function Information Technology Industries Staffing and Recruiting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Alderson Loop by 2x Inferred from the description for this job Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Get notified when a new job is posted.
