We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team, focused on new product development and released product support.

This is a in office position, requiring a presence in the office a few times each week. Therefore, applicants must be in the Twin Cities for the duration of the internship.

OPPORTUNITIES YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE

• Concept Generation: Brainstorm and design new features and components for next generation medical devices.
• Problem Solving: Investigate complex engineering problems and implement solutions.
• Collaboration: Work with team members across all functions of the organization to support the Inspire corporate strategy.
• Medical Device Industry Experience: Learn what it takes to bring a reliable, therapeutic device to the market.
• Patient Focus: Inspire's mission is always to help the patient. Understand how everything that we do is to deliver value and peace of mind to our patients.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO OUR GREAT TEAM

Required:

• Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work in clinical environment (i.e. operating room)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Willingness to take and implement feedback

Preferred:

• SolidWorks or similar CAD software experience.
• Experience building or prototyping with hardware components (e.g. 3D printing).
• Understanding of materials and material properties.
• Understanding of human anatomy.

The salary for this position will be offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position at the time of posting. The salary range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from the posting based on various factors such as geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.

Salary

$20—$30 USD
