We are seeking a qualified and experienced Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students in special education classrooms.

Hours & ScheduleFull-time position

National certification from a recognized body such as the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or the National Association of the Deaf (NAD)
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in ASL interpretation, Deaf education, or a related field with coursework focused on educational interpreting
Experience interpreting in educational environments, with knowledge of special education practices
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to adapt interpreting styles to individual student needs
Provide real-time interpretation of spoken language into ASL for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students in classroom settings
Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers, adapting interpreting styles as needed
Collaborate with educators and support staff to understand curriculum content and instructional methods
Assist in developing IEPs for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students by providing input on communication needs
Monitor student engagement and understanding, addressing any communication barriers
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with interpreting practices and educational trends
