An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support communication access within an elementary school setting. This contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners by facilitating effective communication between students, educators, and staff.

Location: Wisconsin Dells, WI
Duration: Contract position for the current school year (CSY)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality sign language interpretation services during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings.
• Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and support staff.
• Collaborate with educators to ensure accessible learning environments and equal participation opportunities.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct while supporting student needs.
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet changing classroom dynamics and individual student requirements.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification preferred.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with elementary-age children.
• Strong understanding of the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced school environment.
