Responsibilities Coordinates and facilitates the bi‑annual trainings with CDCR for Placement Office staff and CBPs. Identifies training needs and works in close collaboration with the Compliance Coordinator regarding identified needs for additional training or clarification. Identifies and conducts any additional required and/or needed training sessions. Monitors individual onsite training plans. Develops additional training modules as needs are identified. Develops strategies with other community criminal justice agencies to best serve the target population and effectively establish coordinated community outreach to inform the public concerning the initiative. Provides trainings, as needed, for STOP Placement Office and CBP staff, thereby increasing the level of accountability and professionalism of all stakeholders. Develops, monitors and updates, as needed, outreach presentations in collaboration with other STOP providers to ensure consistency in the message being delivered. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Education or related field required. Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Education or related field preferred. One (1) year of previous training experience including course development and project management is preferred. Two (2) years of evidence‑based program experience preferred. Knowledge of evidence‑based programming, Motivational Interviewing, Core Correctional Practices, ARMS database and experience training large groups is preferred. Possession of a valid driver’s license. Ability to understand a variety of models including cognitive behavioral therapy, theories of addiction and dynamics related to substance use and other criminogenic risk factors. Extensive knowledge of the transitional process, both documentation and operational, between in‑custody and community‑based modalities/programs. Excellent knowledge of English and spelling. Possession of a level of maturity to deal with sensitive issues inherent in the delivery of reentry substance abuse treatment services to the criminal justice population. Ability to know and comply with program documentation requirements, applicable ethical and professional standards of conduct. Excellent communication skills. Possession of excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as an ability to train other staff in use of same. Ability to read and interpret documents such as government regulations, legal documents, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to provide effective training and education of program staff. Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
